Well just to let you know what your club president, Joe and the kids are doing during this amazingly odd and never at a lost for surprise and challenge or difficulty this year 2020... life is still just as busy as ever with a million projects and trying to continue to scrap by financially like most everyone I am sure! Covid killed the massage business and the other one is a work in process!!! Still!!! Joe still works the lions share of days, but he is managing to find more time to enjoy life. The minutes matter more now then ever and each day that passes they get more precious! I am still unable to hike due to some unknown issue with my calf and foot. So we have been doing hill rides on the bikes, Joe has made it up Viking Mountain to the dirt road from our place, and I am a bit short of that but we are getting real close. We have had some other medical concerns but we are managing in spite of modern American assembly line medicine. Getting older is not for the faint of heart, it will certainly put hair on your chest and your chin! We have had lots of backyard BBQ's with just the two of us. We've gotten a lot better at corn hole. And even with all this time at home we realize our projects will never be done!!! Mother Nature has, as always, been a beautiful reprieve and treat! We have almost washed away several times this summer, and the bugs are eating the forest in droves!  The kids are doing great, they are so hoping for cooler weather so they can hike, but with momma being having the challenge of walking much at all dad may have his hands full with the three of them! Miss Kabean is getting older like us and its starting to really show on her too. I completed my Climate Reality Leadership Training and will be doing consciousness awareness raising presentations, in the region. Of course like everything else they will be online for a while! I am teaming up with an Associate Professor of Biology from Tusculum and Forest Biologists from the Great Smoky Mountains and others. I am also starting up my fall phenology study of the trees in my plot of the Great Smoky Mountains. I have learned that we are not going to like some of the changes in the Appalachians that are coming, even quicker than we imagined, with climate change, we are going to loose some treasures!!! That is motivation enough to take action! My Mom is doing great and still cutting her own yard and gardening but only on those mornings where the humidity is below 100 and the temperature under 85! LOL!!! I bought her a tablet with lots of books so she is good to go!!! She sends her love to all! I am working on the website. I have moved stuff around to make the organization more streamlined and to prepare for member only password access in some of the areas. I will be seeking to enter and maintain current members into the site and start up the members only section, but without any assistants in the form of VP, its gonna be a long process! I was hoping to have it done so that when I started this blog, we could share stuff about each others lives since we miss all of you and are wondering how everyone is doing???  So much too do so little time! So if you share or comment on the blog just know right now this blog is accessible to the public.

Cub Welcome to The Club Cub Blog! The Author of this blog is Your Club President and the Club Members. This is where we can share information about the good and the bad things that are happening in the lives of our club members. We can share stories about our hikes, bikes rides and other journeys, new kids, grandkids, weddings, funerals, graduations, and other achievements, or a simple note about how each of us is doing. Notices about recreational, environmental or conservation legislation, and other concerns. Great equipment and products related to the outdoors and reviews related to our club activities, that you want to share with members, but no soliciting or selling!! Suggestions for the club, ideas, projects you are willing to take on in a leadership role. Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview. Email your blog submission written as you would like it to be posted, and fully edited, The Club President will add it to the Club Blog. Submissions will be reviewed to ensure it meets the inclusive nature of our club and present information in a nice, kind and respectful manner.
